We have made it to the big time!

This from today's Virginia Blog Carnival:

I Support Harris Miller!
by Harris Miller Fan (I Support Harris Miller)
I think this website was created solely for the purpose of getting me to type "I Support Harris Miller" on my site. It's a c-o-n-spiracy... but we can expect this to become the hub for activism for the Miller campaign as we tumble into the Democratic Primary.

That's right! As Miller heads toward Richmond, we remain a hub! Also, in just its 4th day of existence, the I Support Harris Miller blog has been visited by 500 unique visitors! Hip-Hip-Hooray! The whole team thanks you for all the support!

Congrats on the readership, 500 unique IPs is commendable!

Naturally, I support George Allen... but I do have to relay a story from Webb's visit to Fredericksburg:

A friend of mine (a very pro-life Republican) wanted to shake hands with Webb and ask him his position on abortion. The moment the words escaped his lips, Webb's staffers jumped.

"Read his literature! It's all in there!" and shuffled Webb along.

Now my friend didn't get an answer out of Webb, nor did he get an answer out of Webb's staff for about five minutes until one sheepishly replied that Webb's literature wasn't all that clear, and Webb was pro-abortion.

Of course, that set my friend off -- but he thought it was very telling that Webb nor his staff was being 100% honest about his position on abortion.

Just something I thought I'd pass along to your readers, not for dissension's sake, but I'd much rather see a candidate take a stand and let the public have an honest debate. The alterative only hurts democracy.

Regards,

I've seen enough pro-life people:

1. Talk a candidates ear off for 30 minutes and

2. Get belligerant

to know that it's a red flag when someone runs up to a democrat and brings that issue up. 90% of the time, they're looking for an opportunity to yell and call the person a baby killer...

Shaun,

I appreciate the story. I often feel that frustration. If you stand for something, be proud of it, don't hide it. This is why I think Harris Miller would be a strong Governor, as he has been solid in his support of our war of liberation in Iraq.

So far you seem to be in the Webb camp. Can you at least admit that Miller for Governor in '09 sounds like it might be the second coming of Mark Warner?

Miller's my kind of guy:

Miller responded to a Republican caller by saying, “I’m a Democrat and I’m a proud Democrat but I’m nobody’s lackey…I disagree with a lot of what the national Democratic Party advocates because I am a businessperson.” Miller added:

I’m going to vote for what’s best for Virginia. I’m an American first, I’m a Virginia second, I’m a Democrat third. Allen is a Republican first, Republican second, and Republican third.

However, responding to a Mark Plotkin on whether or not he would vote to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, Miller said, “I love the idea…I think it’s a great idea,” while adding that “we have to do it in context” and “only if we can afford it.” Specifically, Miller said that we can’t cut taxes “at the same time we’re cutting student loans.”

Other areas that Miller is not a “traditional Democrat?”

I support the death penalty. I’m an Old Testament kind of guy. I understand that often the legal representation isn’t what it needs to be…but if somebody killed my wife or killed my kids not only would I wanted to see them executed, I’d flip the switch… Criminals need to be treated for what they are, as criminals. I know a lot of people in the Democratic Party don’t necessarily agree with that…

MILLER IS FAR from anyone’s idea of left-wing. He supports requiring parental notification when a minor seeks an abortion and he considers himself a strong believer in the death penalty.

“I’m just an Old Testament kind of guy,” he said. “A lot of Democrats don’t understand that.”

Moreover, he has little time for liberals who express disdain at conservative Christian beliefs. “So many Democrats talk about the ‘Religious Right.’ Well, that’s disrespectful of their views.”

Ohhhhhh yeah.

Yes, I can rest easy at night knowing that Miller won't offend any Republicans when he is elected Governor in 2009.

Damn you Wilmore! Everyone knows you hate Miller! You're just a troll on this site!

You'll probably support Creigh Deeds for Governor, which is stupid, because 2009 is Miller's year.

I enjoyed reading through your blog.

I've searched and searched for the best hosts. It's tough to find the best ones. I finally found a couple reliable and inexpensive webhosts here. I have a couple unlimited domain accounts I've been using for some time with much success. Let me know what you think.
